can i place an item on hold?

Of course! If you're unable to come into the shop and don't want to miss out on a certain item, you can give us a call to pay for the piece over the phone and have us hold it for your pick-up, arrange for delivery or shipping or simply ask us any question you may have about the piece.  

do you deliver or ship items?

Yes, we offer local delivery and nationwide shipping on many of our products. Larger pieces like tables or custom installations may require special delivery arrangements, which we are happy to coordinate with you. Delivery and shipping rates vary based on size, weight, and destination — contact us for a quote.

What is the timeline for a custom project?

Most custom projects take 6 to 12 weeks, depending on complexity, material availability, and our current queue. Once we finalize your design, we’ll provide a detailed timeline and keep you updated along the way.

What are your payment terms for custom work?

For custom orders, we typically require a 50% deposit to begin work, with the balance due upon completion and prior to delivery. An appropriate payment schedule may be available for larger projects — reach out to discuss options.

Do you repair or refinish work?

At this time, our focus is on new custom work and original pieces. However, we occasionally take on refinishing or repair projects if they align with our expertise. Feel free to contact us with details about your piece, and we can let you know if it's a good fit.

Do you accept returns?

At Benchmark Fine Woodworking, every piece is crafted with care and attention to detail. Because many of our items are custom-made or produced in small batches, all sales are final. We do not accept returns on made-to-order or custom furniture.

 

If your item arrives damaged or with a craftsmanship issue, please contact us promptly after delivery. We will evaluate the issue and offer a repair, replacement, or store credit as appropriate.

 

For small in-stock, non-custom items, returns may be accepted within 10 days of purchase if the item is unused and in its original condition. A restocking fee may apply, and return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
