Abmeyer + Wood Fine Art has two areas of focus: figurative sculptors, especially in ceramic and glass and strong painters, both abstract and representational. Historically craft (such as ceramic or glass art) and painting have been kept separate, but we pride ourselves in blurring those lines. Above all, Abmeyer + Wood features art that is unique and well-made. Whether it is finding a singular piece of art to compliment a home, or working with individuals or corporations to add to or build ambitious collections, we strive to excite our clients with what we offer. Through mounting exhibitions at our brick and mortar gallery, art fairs and corporations and consulting with private, public or corporate clients, we have developed an extensive network of talented artists that is selectively growing. Today, Abmeyer + Wood operates as an online gallery and also offers an array of in-person and virtual art consulting services. 

Jonathan Wood

Abmeyer + Wood owner, Jonathan Wood, grew up along the East Coast- near D.C., near Boston, near Disney World- before attending college at Emory University in Atlanta. In 2002 he moved to the Pacific Northwest to enter a Master's program in art history at University of Washington. Jonathan spent 15 years working in the Seattle art scene, beginning as an unpaid intern at a gallery. He eventually became director of that same gallery before moving on to found Abmeyer + Wood Fine Art in 2012. Since then Jonathan has curated, laid out and installed over 70 exhibitions, served on numerous arts-related boards, and helped build hundreds of private and corporate art collections. With well over a decade of professional experience running commercial art galleries, Jonathan understands and is passionate about contemporary art. He considers each client's needs, budget and taste to make each project a tailor fit. Prior to working in the visual arts, Jonathan served as a teacher for children with special needs and ran an indie rock record label. When not working, he enjoys listening to live music, cooking, traveling near and abroad, adventure sports and exploring the outdoors.
