Visual Haikus on Paper
Rosemary Goodell is a Louisiana-based artist. She graduated with both a BFA & MFA from the University of California, Berkeley and later studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She received a Fulbright Scholarship to travel to and study in Japan. You can see influences of Japanese Art through her use of asymmetrical balance, flat color, and line in this body of work. In her own words, this collection is a form of “visual haiku”, where images serve as words and capture a moment in time. Each work is printed on 30x22” paper and signed, titled, & numbered ‘1/1’ on the front.
