Donna Caselden

Contemporary Artwork and Design

Donna Caselden has had extensive professional experience in several design fields. She was the proprietor of a home staging and interior design business for many years, and is currently working directly with clients on interior design and home decor.

She's also an accomplished experimental artist and clothing designer. Several of her works have been selected to be showcased in museums and galleries throughout the Northeast. One of her designs was awarded the Certificate of Excellence by ManneqArt, a nationally recognized organization well known for wearable art and design. The award winning dress that Donna designed was publicly on display in the greater D.C. area. It was also on display at the Peabody Essex Museum as part of the W.O.W. World of Wearable Art exhibit in February 2017.

Donna is also a successful 2D artist, working with acrylic, watercolor and oil paint. She finds time to be available for workshops and presentations to share her experience in the creative design process.

She is a member of Cape Ann's Experimental Art Group at Rockport Art Association,Society for Encouragement of Arts (seArts), Rocky Neck Art Colony, and National Association of Women Artist (NAWA).

 Juried shows include Celebrate Wearable Art II and III, ManneqArt 2014 and 2016, Cape Ann Museum Guest Lecturer 2015, Unexpected 3- A juried exhibition of the Rockport Art Association & Experimental Art Group 2016, Annisquam Arts & Crafts Show 2016, Groundwork Glow Gala 2016, Peabody Essex Museum World of Wearable Art Exhibit 2017,  Fresh Exhibit at Rocky Neck Cultural Center 2017, Unexpected 4- A juried exhibition of the Rockport Art Association & Experimental Art Group 2017, Contemporary Visions of Greece's Golden Age at Lowell's Brush Gallery, and seArts at Bass Rocks.

Artist Statement

I've always loved to fish. Almost as much as I love to create art. To me, the two are very similar in that I never know the outcome.  Once I cast my line, what will appear when I reel it in? Once I make that first pass with my brush, what will emerge? At times I will have an idea in my mind, but the finished design is never the way I thought it would be. Over the years, I've allowed myself to trust my intuition, and realize that's the best way for my artwork to evolve.
